Client: Cameron Jane Makeup Design
Roles: Photographer, Trainer, Creative Producer

Overview: Working alongside Cameron Jane Makeup Design, I helped bridge the gap between makeup education and the professional beauty industry. My role extended beyond photography, creating campaign imagery, developing industry-focused training and leading editorial productions that gave students real world experience working on professional sets.
Brand Campaign
The school wanted to replace generic imagery with photography that reflected its own identity.
Working closely with Cameron Jane, we developed a series of striking editorial beauty images centred around bold lips, graphic liner and contemporary beauty trends. The imagery became part of the school's advertising, website and large-format signage, establishing a distinctive visual identity that represented the quality of the education on offer.
Educating Through Photography:
I developed workshops that helped students understand how makeup translates in front of the camera.
Students learned how lighting, symmetry, texture and colour influence the final image. Through live demonstrations and portfolio shoots, they were able to evaluate their own work, make refinements on set and gain a practical understanding of professional beauty photography.
Students were also encouraged to develop original concepts, using reference imagery as inspiration while creating work that reflected their own creative voice.
Editorial Production Experience:
To prepare students for the industry, I led editorial productions that replicated the experience of working on set for magazines.
This included developing concepts with magazine editors, pitching editorial stories, casting models, assigning artists to specific looks and coordinating stylists, hairstylists and production teams. Students worked within real production structures, learning how to collaborate, respond to creative direction and deliver work as part of a larger team.
The resulting editorials were published across titles including Lita Magazine, Laud Magazine and Faddy Magazine, giving students valuable industry experience while producing publishable editorial work.
Outcome
The collaboration created more than portfolio imagery. It introduced students to the creative, technical and collaborative standards expected within the fashion and beauty industry, while strengthening Cameron Jane Makeup Design's brand through distinctive campaign photography and industry-focused education.
"Carlo became an integral part of Cameron Jane Makeup Design, helping develop our 'Working with the Photographer' training module as part of the academy's curriculum. He created the content from a photographer's perspective specifically for makeup artists, giving our students a genuine understanding of how makeup translates through the camera and under different lighting conditions. His knowledge extends beyond photography; with a strong understanding of hair and makeup, he was able to guide students on both photographic considerations and makeup application, making him an invaluable mentor throughout the course. His ability to bridge the gap between creative artistry and commercial production gave our students practical skills they could immediately apply in the industry."
